The Process
- Sixty minutes in one neighbourhood, directed in English, Japanese or French.
- Travel is included for the four locations below. Anywhere else is available on quote.
- A private digital gallery is delivered within 24 hours for you to choose your twelve photographs.
- Each one is retouched by hand, with a lighter finish than a studio session: colour, contrast and skin kept natural rather than worked in detail.
- Delivery within seven days of your selection. Unedited originals from the shoot are available on request.
- If it rains the session is postponed where that is possible and cancelled where it is not. Payment is on the day, so there is nothing to refund.
The Locations
Shibuya by Night
Neon, crossings and backstreets, from dusk onward. The busiest hour in Tokyo, used as a backdrop.
Shimokitazawa by Day
Second-hand shops, narrow lanes and low buildings. Daylight, and a quieter crowd than Shibuya.
Meiji Jingu Shrine by Day
Gravel paths, torii gates and the forest in the middle of the city. Calm, green and formal.
Asakusa by Night
Senso-ji lit after dark, Nakamise shuttered and the lanterns on. The crowd thins out after nine.

How this differs from a studio session
Twelve retouched photographs cost ¥120,000 in the studio. This is not a discount, it is not the same work. A studio session runs two to three hours and every photograph is retouched in detail. That was out of expectation ( in a good way!) ! We were travellers for outdoor couple photo shooting in Tokyo Tower area, we booked the session with Jean because from the website we knew he speaks English and unlike the others it has clear price tag and products showcases which is very transparent. We had the most amazing photoshoot experience with JG! From the moment we met in Shibuya, we knew we were in good hands.
