Jean-Guillaume Brasseur

Photographer, founder and owner of JG Studio, opened in 2023. French, in Tokyo since 2015, working from my own studio in Shibuya and on location.
I was born in Paris and have lived in Tokyo since 2015. I photograph people: portraits for individuals and artists, headshots and team portraits for companies, and campaigns for brands. Most sessions take place at my studio, a five-minute walk from Shibuya Station. The rest happen where you are, in your office or somewhere in the city.
Sessions run in English, Japanese or French.
How I Work
Light
Studio strobes, continuous light or natural light, chosen for the brief rather than by habit.
Direction
No need to know how to pose: I guide you every step of the way. A session is a real human, collaborative experience, with a professional who listens to you.
The Finish
You choose your photographs from a private online gallery. Each one you select is retouched by hand: skin refined, texture kept, colour graded to the set.
The Studio

A 22 m² room on the seventh floor with three large windows, a private balcony, a changing room that locks from the inside, and furniture that stays out of the way. This is JG Studio, the studio I founded, and where I photograph.
When I am not, it is rented by the hour to photographers, videographers and creators. A rental is the room alone, no photographer and no assistant; I am in the office next door for every booking. If you are here to be photographed, the studio is included in your session.
Who I Photograph
Major organizations and independent labels, local and international artists, executives and their teams, and a great many people being photographed professionally for the first time. What they say afterwards is on Google.
